David Armstrong FCA CTA
David became a partner in the firm in 1994. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser with one of the “Big 4” international practices, where he spent 8 years specialising in taxation, including advising on tax planning and tax mitigation for owner-managed businesses. He has considerable experience of advising local businesses and leads the firm’s tax investigations and litigation support services.
David Holloway BA (Hons) FCA
David qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1995 at Ribchesters. He then spent several years in a large regional practice managing a portfolio of small and medium sized audit clients including professional practices and charities. He rejoined Ribchesters in 2000 and became a partner in 2002.
David was appointed as a partner in the firm in 2002. Prior to that, he spent several years as an audit and accounting manager in a large regional practice.
He has extensive experience in advising small and medium sized businesses on their audit, accounting and taxation requirements. David is also the firm’s Charities accounting specialist, acting for in excess of thirty organisations in the not for profit sector.
Jack Law BA ACA FCPA (HK)
Born in Hong Kong, Jack is a graduate of Newcastle University and originally qualified with the firm. He then spent several years in senior financial positions in Hong Kong, before returning to the firm as a Partner in 1992. He is resident partner in our Newcastle office, but retains substantial consultancy interests overseas, and spends much of his time in the Far East. Jack is therefore uniquely placed to advise on Far East investment into the UK and on UK investment into Hong Kong and China.
Josephine Law BSc (hons)
Josephine Law graduated from Newcastle University with an honours degree in Mathematics in 1982. After graduation, she worked in firms of accountants, both in the UK and in Hong Kong. She joined Ribchesters in 1993 and was appointed Managing Partner of the firm’s Newcastle office in 2008. Josephine provides specialist advice to, and manages the accounting and taxation affairs of, in excess of 300 Chinese clients.
Other consultants and advisers
Most of the firm’s professional staff hold recognised professional qualifications in accountancy and/or taxation. Any not holding formal qualifications are studying towards them, or have at least 10 year’s experience in their field of expertise.
In addition to having a designated partner responsible for delivery of our services to you, you will also have a designated qualified accounting manager and tax adviser to ensure that professional advice will always be available to you when required.
